Spotlight On: Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

There is one resort at Disneyland Resort that surpasses all others. In service, styling, and location, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa surpasses them all.

Located inside Disney’s California Adventure Park, above Downtown Disney, and just steps from Disneyland Park, this Craftsman-style hotel is perfectly located to enjoy all that Disneyland Resort has to offer.

Grand Californian Resort

This resort is grand and yet cozy and welcoming all at the same time. The beautiful stone fireplace is the centerpiece of a beautiful Craftsman-style lobby with touches of California poppies in almost every detail. Though it does not stop here, the Disneyland monorail races quietly above the building’s courtyards.

Inside Grand Californian Resort

Making your way to the rear of the resort you’ll even find a hotel guest only access directly into the heart of the Grizzly Peak area of Disney’s California Adventure Park, and another entrance that puts you right out in the middle of Downtown Disney.

The pools here are cozy and all three are located in the same area of the hotel. This offers guests easy ability to find the pool that is best for them. Whether it is the feature pool with slide that flows out of a stump of a Redwood, the splashing fun at the Fountain Pool, or the quiet respite of the Mariposa Pool with its poolside cabanas the choice is yours when it comes to pool time.

Pool Area

Or maybe you’d like to Get Up & Go Power Walk? This is an expereince where guests can sign up to walk Disney’s California Adventure Park for some morning exercise prior to park opening, with some of the best surroundings you can ask for.

Maybe a hotel tour or scavenger hunt at the resort sounds interesting to you? No? Maybe you need to relax? The Tenaya Stone Spa offers a full-service spa experience. It is located on the first floor of the resort and is the perfect way to release all the tension of rope drop at Disneyland.

Maybe you would like to experience some culinary delights? Napa Rose, Disneyland’s award-winning restaurant offers some of the most amazing California fare and an extensive wine selection. Not wanting to commit to a full dining experience, but still looking to try the food at Napa Rose? Try the Napa Rose Lounge which offers many of the dishes found in the main restaurant, but with a cozier fireside atmosphere. Maybe a more casual character dining experience is what you are looking for? Then check out Storytellers Café, and their character buffet breakfast or brunch. If you want to check out the buffet but aren’t into characters, dinner at Storytellers Café is character-free!

Accommodations here are cozy and well-appointed. A variety of styles and views are available from standard hotel rooms, to club-level access rooms, suites of varying sizes from 1-3-bedroom options, as well as their signature suites themed to reflect two major design styles of the Craftsman movement; the El Capitan and Arcadia suites have décor that reflects Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie style, and the Mount Whitney and Arroyo suites’ décor reflects that of Greene and Greene. Looking for something with the comforts of home? Try the Grand Californian Villas with accommodations from Deluxe Studios to 1, 2, and 3-bedroom villas, all with kitchenettes (studios) or full-size kitchens, and even in-room laundry in the larger villas.
