My Top 3 Favorite Resorts for Families at Universal Orlando Resort

I love making lists.  They keep you organized, they keep you on track, and they even can help you rank your favorites.  So, without further ado, these are my top 3 favorite resorts for families at Universal Orlando Resort.

Universal Studios Orlando

No. 3) Universal’s Endless Summer Resort - Surfside Inn & Suites

With family-style 2-bedroom Suites that sleep 6, and include a kitchenette, starting below $200 a night, what’s not to love?  This beautiful resort is focused on family fun and is perfect for a larger family on a budget.  The room décor is light, airy, and well…beachy!  It is listed as a Value Hotel, and like all Universal Orlando Resort hotels, it includes early park admission access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and complimentary transportation to and from all three Universal Parks and Universal City Walk.  That complimentary transportation is key, as this resort is a bit further out from the main campus, south down Universal Boulevard and across I-4.  For the price point, the theming and access to Universal Orlando Resort just can’t be beat!

No. 2) Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort

I love the kitschy atmosphere of this resort.  This resort is themed to the motor inns of the 1950s & 60s, right down the V05 shampoo and conditioner in the shower!  However, that isn’t the real draw here, the pools are.  There are two AMAZING pools here one in the Cabana Courtyard with a dive tower-themed water slide and cabanas for rent, and another that is a lazy river in the Lazy River Courtyard!  What could be better than a water park-style pool for your kiddos on their next stay at Universal Orlando Resort?  How about family suites that sleep up to 6 and include a kitchenette?  Still not exciting enough?  What about a bowling alley in your resort?  That is sure to be fun for the whole family.  This resort is considered a Prime Value resort and is a bit pricier than the Endless Summer Resort, but it is much, much closer to the action.  You can walk to Volcano Bay and use complimentary shuttle buses to the Universal Parks and Universal City Walk.  Like all Universal Resorts, it also includes early park admission access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

No. 1) Loews Royal Pacific Resort

My number one pick for family resorts at Universal Orlando Resort is hands down Loews Royal Pacific Resort.  The outside of the resort is quite understated and belies the fun and beauty awaiting inside.  Once inside the lobby, you are transported to the Far East, and it reminds me of my time in Thailand.  The pool is gorgeous, and lush with tropical foliage everywhere.  The music here always keeps the pool hopping, and you can literally dig your toes in the sandy bottom of the pool.  There is also an interactive water play area for the little ones.  Do your kids love dinosaurs?  Then the coveted Jurassic World-themed Kid Suites are what you want!  They allow for fun, privacy, and safety for your whole family.  Mom and Dad can sleep in a more restful stylized Jurassic-themed room while the kids get to lay in their very own Gyrosphere beds!  These rooms can sleep up to 5 with a rollaway.  The best part of this resort is that it is a Premier resort and as such includes Universal Express Unlimited Pass which allows you unlimited front-of-the-line access on almost all of the rides at both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios parks.  (There is no front-of-the-line access for Hagrid’s Motor Bike Adventure.)  Out of the three Premier resort options, it is the most cost-effective.  As with all other Universal Resorts complimentary transportation, in the form of a boat launch, is included as is early admission access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  I just feel that for the price, you can’t beat the location, amenities, and theming for this resort.

Royal Pacific Resort

Whichever Universal Orland Resort Hotel you can’t really go wrong.  The access, theming, and fun that can be had all over Universal Orlando Resort makes it a must-visit when headed to Orlando.

Whatever option you choose, we at Part of That World Vacations are here to help you when you are ready to travel again.  Until next time, what Part of That World would you like to travel to?
