Disney vacations can be intimidating and pretty pricey. That's where your travel advisor comes in to help you to have the most magical vacation within your budget. Disney's Pop Century Resort is a great option for families traveling on a budget.
There are three categories of resorts at Walt Disney World: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Pop Century falls into the Value category. In my opinion, it is the best of the value resorts for so many reasons. If I am planning to spend a lot of time at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, I love staying at Pop Century, the access to the Skyliner makes this resort worth paying a little more than the other Value Resorts or staying off property.
Here is why I love staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort:
Themed Sections: The resort is divided into different sections, each representing a different decade on the exterior only. Guest can become fully immersed in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Each decade includes larger-than-life icons representing pop culture from each decade.
Accommodations: Pop Century offers rooms with various views, including standard, pool, and preferred. Preferred rooms are my favorite and put you closest to the Everything Pop Shopping and Dining and the bus transportation. Preferred pool view rooms keep you close to the main building and will give you views of the Hippy Dippy Pool. Pool view rooms give you views of the Bowling or the Computer pool and the standard rooms will be a little farther away from the action. The rooms are designed to be comfortable and functional, with a focus on providing a budget-friendly option for guests. Most rooms have one queen bed and a queen murphy bed.
Pools and Recreation: Disney's Pop Century Resort has three swimming pools, including the Hippy Dippy Pool, Bowling Pool, and Computer Pool. Each pool area is themed to match the area in which it is located. There are also recreational activities for guests, including a 1.29-mile jogging trail, an arcade, and a playground. Along the jogging trail, there are signs highlighting important events from each decade. Pop Century also hosts Movie Under the Stars, a daily movie on an outdoor screen. The movie schedule is usually located in the resort lobby.
Transportation: Staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort gives you access to Disney's transportation system. Pop Century has buses that will take you to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, the Disney Waterparks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports. The big selling point of this resort is access to the Skyliner. The Skyliner takes you to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney's Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resorts.
Overall I think that Pop Century is a good resort for anyone who is staying on a budget or for anyone who doesn't plan to spend a lot of time hanging out around the resort. With access to the Skyliner, renovated rooms, and a value price, It is my go-to for my visits. I will definitely stay at Pop Century again!
